In the fall of 2019 I was contacted by Nimbus Publishing to potentially hand letter and illustrate some pieces for Séan McCann’s upcoming memoir, One Good Reason. The founder of world renown folk rock band, Great Big Sea, was in the final stages of co-writing the book with his wife Andrea Aragon and they needed an illustrator to bring some of Sean’s lyrics to life.
I read the book and knew I had to do the project. Séan and Andrea’s story is heart-wrenching, powerful, and beautifully written from both perspectives. I couldn’t put it down. I applaud Sean and Andrea for their bravery and hard work in telling their story. It was an honour to work with them.
