Done for the Textual Feelings Show at Argyle Fine Art in Halifax, this piece was inspired by a love for storms.
Pre sketched with pencil, finished with ink (Microns, dip pen and Winsor & Newton ink).
Out of “The Book”, my ongoing sketchbook project where each piece I do in a particular sketchbook is completed from beginning to end. This particular piece became an 8″x10″ print (available in my Etsy shop).
Originally done in “The Book”, this piece pulled lots of heartstrings around the Maritimes, and among many more coastal dwellers around the world.
Nova Scotians, after their sailing ambassador the tall ship Bluenose, are sometimes affectionately referred to as Bluenosers. A pivotal piece in my career, I drew this on a random day in 2014. Little did I know that it would provoke an epiphany: my passion for hand lettering & illustration tied with the love I have for my home are a match made in heaven. True Bluenoser got the ball rolling and within the year I was able to take on freelance work full time.
